‘Denim’ is Coming!

This weekend Siana Bangura released the trailer to her upcoming poetic short film, ‘Denim’, an exploration of the effects of gentrification in South East London. Shot and edited by documentary filmmaker Susuana Amoah and featuring vocals by singer-singwriter Nia Ekanem, ‘Denim’ is a raw reflection of what happens when the city changes and those who built it are left behind.

As well as the trailer, the first of THREE behind the scenes videos has been shared too. Featuring Nia Ekanem, Siana offers an insight into day one of the ‘Denim’ shoot weekend and all the fun that was had during their recording session at Peckham Studios, in South East London.

Siana Bangura is a writer, poet, performer and producer hailing from South East London. She is the author of critically acclaimed debut collection, 'Elephant', a book of poetry meditating on Black British womanhood and life growing up in London and the founder and former editor of No Fly on the WALL.
