‘Freetown Sounds’: Introducing The Salone Collective… Get your tickets

It’s a new month and there are plenty of exciting events coming up to close the year! As well as speaking at Sassy Tees first Birthday event and running a poetry workshop at SOAS this month, Siana will be hosting and performing at the very first Salone Collective event! Founded by Siana as a forum for young Sierra Leoneans in Britain and across the diaspora to connect with one another and network, the collective is slowly building momentum and to celebrate members will be showcasing their talents on Sunday 13th November 2016 from 2 pm to 5 pm at Star of Kings.

As well as Siana Bangura, performers include Alim Kamara, Asabi Hawah, Showers Jalloh, Tony As and more and photographer Adama Jalloh will also be showcasing her work.

Siana Bangura

Siana Bangura is a writer, poet, performer and producer hailing from South East London. She is the author of critically acclaimed debut collection, 'Elephant', a book of poetry meditating on Black British womanhood and life growing up in London and the founder and former editor of No Fly on the WALL. Siana is the producer of '1500 & Counting', a documentary film investigating deaths in custody in the UK. With experience in indie publishing, journalism, and campaigns under her belt, Siana’s wide portfolio of work focuses on bringing voices on the margins to the centre.
